There has been an alarming increase in early onset colorectal cancer over recent years. Early onset colorectal cancer, or EOCRC, is defined as colon cancer diagnosed in individuals younger than 50 years old. What was once considered a disease of older adults has now made its way into the younger population. To combat this rise in EOCRC incidence rates, health professionals have been emphasizing dietary fiber intake as a preventative measure.
